This picture is from the holiday disc golf outing over Christmas break. Taking pictures while playing disc golf can be difficult as you’ve already got a task holding your attention. If you don’t throw down the middle of the fairway you’ve got to chase your disc, drawing you away from photo ops. The one routine opportunity is the first drive at the tee box of each hole. This picture is another one of those tee shots, but from a taller viewpoint than normal. There was a stump next to the tee that I was able to stand on and still be out of the way. I would like to make another image like this one and get the disc in the frame. The difficulty in getting this shot is that the person throwing the disc is moving very fast and therefore you have to use a fast shutter speed. This means that you only get a tiny slice of the entire motion and many of these shots wind up with a different piece of the action than you had aimed for.
