The first time I went to Outer Banks Coffee Company, I noticed that they had a chile latte listed as an “especial” so naturally I had to try it. It was basically a Sriracha spiked mocha, but it had a wonderful balance of sweet and spicy.

The next day I asked the owner if he had any other especials and told him that I had just tried Cuban coffee two days prior and loved it. He said, let me make you a cortadito! Of course, I said, make it two. These drinks were sweetened with condensed milk and lots of espresso and tasted great.

We proceeded to make off menu cortaditos a morning routine, just after eating bagels from Lighthouse of course. Lucky for us these two gems are only 3 doors apart and just a quick jaunt down the beach.
