IED?

I’ve shown you this bridge before with spent AR casings laying around, but today I found a much more curious piece of weaponry on display. I’m no expert, but this looks like an improvised explosive device (IED) to me. And this is why I hate going into Fort Pickett to collect water samples.

It wasn’t that high anymore, but the ground around the bridge was very soft.

Huge Crayfish

This guy wins the prize for the largest crayfish I’ve ever seen.  I think he may have also been double jointed because he nearly pinched Kelly a couple of times from that position.

Caddisfly

These bugs are some of my favorite.  They make cases out of pieces of leaves, sticks, and rocks they scavenge from the creeks.  Pretty amazing little creatures.
